Occupational Therapy Assistant
Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs) play a crucial role in helping individuals regain independence and improve their quality of life after injury, illness, or disability. Working under the guidance of occupational therapists, OTAs assist patients in developing or regaining the skills needed for daily living and meaningful activities. They may help clients with exercises, teach them how to use specialized equipment, or provide guidance on modifying their environments for better accessibility. OTAs also track progress, communicate with healthcare teams, and offer emotional support to clients and their families throughout the rehabilitation process. With a blend of empathy, creativity, and clinical expertise, Occupational Therapy Assistants empower individuals to achieve their maximum potential and engage fully in the activities that matter most to them.
