Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapists (OTs) are healthcare professionals who assist people of all ages in participating in the meaningful activities (occupations) of daily life. Their role involves evaluating individuals' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities, as well as their environmental factors, to develop personalized treatment plans aimed at improving independence and quality of life. OTs utilize a holistic approach, focusing on activities such as self-care, work, and leisure, to help clients regain or develop the skills needed for daily living. They may provide interventions such as adaptive equipment training, sensory integration therapy, cognitive rehabilitation, and environmental modifications to support clients in achieving their goals. Additionally, occupational therapists collaborate with other healthcare professionals, educators, and caregivers to create supportive environments and promote clients' overall well-being and participation in meaningful activities.
